During week 4, I started my road map for my bcm241 digital artefact within my pitch, explaining what and how my project will be focusing on my media niche of ‘Its a lot pod’ hosted by Abbie Chatfield through my research and participant observation.
These observations were carried out through the understanding of my paradigmatic framework of feminism closely linked with Lazarsfeld and Katz (1955) influencer theory, which can be further explained in this blog post. Using this framework I was able to research with insights into how audience members of this niche react and rely on Abbie’s perceptions and attitudes when it comes to ideas and issues. Whilst engaging in autoethnographic research by also reflecting on my experience with the impact her impressions have within my own beliefs and ideas.
My tik toks are authentic in the approach to engaging, entertaining and aiding the audience to search within the community of its a lot pod. This is also helped through the development of my online persona.
In relation to peer commentary from a few weeks ago, I have taken on board this feedback and tried to engage within the socials of Abbie Chatfield’s platforms to really immerse myself within the community. I have also accounted for the idea of language used within Abbie’s podcast and the different reactions between men and women who listen along collecting and dispersing their views on certain topics within the niche, optimising the level of engagement whether it be through like or dislike.
Below is my remaining schedule for the next 4 weeks:

Hey Ivy,
I like the idea of your Digital Artefact, Tiktok is a great platform for audience interaction and I’m glad you made that change from Instagram. I had no clue what a paradigmatic framework was but it’s good that you made me look that up because I think it goes well with your media niche. You have ticked a lot of boxes from the marking criteria such as providing a media niche, clear weekly schedule, presence of autoethnographic research and evidence of a Digital Artefact. One thing that you could have improved on is linking your Beta project to your past blog posts and relating it to some of the BCM241 Content. I have an academic source that I think will be helpful for your research its called “Can there be a feminist ethnography?”. The paper calls for greater dialogue between feminism and the new ethnography. It available on google scholar or the UOW library

Hi Ivy,
Firstly I think your media niche is so interesting and refreshing! I haven’t seen anyone else researching a media topic similar to this so I think your DA is super intriguing.
I love how you noted that your audience will need to be further engaged through your content as there wouldn’t be any ‘die-hard’ fans of the podcast. I think creating content for a particular audience in mind is so strategic in actually engaging with your intended audience, so good job!
I also think the use of hashtags was a really good key method in boosting your views.
I think if you wanted to continue on this journey with your DA, a really good strategy would be to respond to your audience through their comments and listen to their requests. I think this will really help you grow your account engagement, and obviously see it flourish with followers.
Here is a link to an academic article that highlights the importance of engaging with your followers online;

Really enjoyed your BETA, and I cant wait to see your final blog post!
Good luck,
